Barbara Alvarez is a former child protective services social worker from New Mexico. After she left this field, she returned to school and, this time, followed her first love—writing. She quickly earned a degree in Journalism and Mass Communications, then started looking for work as a writer.
Barbara decided that becoming a full-time freelance writer was the best option for her goals and aspirations—and, in 2008, began writing the book that had been making its presence felt in her soul. Into the Lives of Others was self-published in September, 2014. Recognizing Barbara’s former profession, this book tells the story of a social work supervisor and her encounters with two antagonists who want to destroy her personal and professional lives. Barbara plans a sequel—as soon as life calms down. Along the way, she is excited to be able to work with Green Frog Publishing and Sylvia Santos on Mom's Gone... as a technical consultant. |
